Toddler Skewers

It’s getting harder and harder to get Julian to eat, let alone eat something healthy, so I’m trying to come up with some ideas to make it more fun and engaging for him.

I saw a thing for fruit skewers in Parents Magazine, and thought pointy sticks aren’t a great idea yet.. but pretzel sticks are! Julian loves any crunchy salty food.

I did a couple different kinds for him: one cheddar, one banana, and one pear. Depending on preference you could use any number of items, just remember that the fruit and veggies can make the pretzel part soggy after about 10 minutes.

It was cute to watch him as I bought out his little platter. He had a lot of fun with these, pulling them off and re-spearing them. Here are a couple crappy phone pics of the success :)
